We're in Cirencester!!!

Image
Hi Everyone, We made it to Cirencester, England! It took a 9 hour flight where we only got around 1 hour sleep and another 2 hour drive (where we spotted Windsor Castle!) to get to our place. All the buildings here are made with the same kind of brick. The colour is called Cirencester Brick  or something similar. Cirencester has a beautiful church, a market square, a chocolate shop, a bookshop, a lolly shop, a crafts market, a tea room and many other cool places.  In the park behind the church there is a machine where you tap your phone (paying 1 pound) and then duck food falls out of the machine and you can feed the ducks! It was really cool. In the pond were a few ducks and only one gull but when we started throwing food the gull called all his friends! There were also some swans chilling by the pond. The church is huge! And beautiful. There were many stained glass windows, a real pipe organ and I think some people were burried under the floor... I tried not to walk o...

Last Skating Trip

Hi Everyone, Wow, time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it! It feels like just last week when we first arrived in Canada. Tomorrow we'll head off to the UK!! A couple days ago we went ice skating for the last time in Whistler. I really feel those ice skating lessons helped us to improve, and they were super fun too! Hopefully, my next blog post will be either on the way, or in, the UK! Write more soon, -Emily

One last Merlins "Apres"

Image
Hi Everyone, We went on a nice walk through Blackcomb today. We haven't gone to this part of town this time and it was really pretty with (fake :(  ) flower arcs, little streams and potted plants. After our walk we went to Merlins (which Dad and I like to go to for apres ski) and had one last meal there before we go to the UK. The lemonade, as usual, WAS HEAVENLY.   In other news, the ice skating rink is finally open again after shutting for a while at the start of Summer. I'm very excited to skate again! Train Wreck Walk

Image
Hi Everyone! Yesterday Mum and Dad took Lily and I on a walk through a very pretty forest to an old train wreck! The wreck derailed in 1957; its' around 70 years old! It has since become a popular place for graffiti artists and is very colourful.  Some of the train carriages were SUPER squished! All of them also had big holes cut into them when the people who owned the train came to strip the salvageable parts from the wreck. The walk had lots of tourist coming to see the wreck as well, but it wasn't too crowded. There is a beautiful river beside the wreck too. We had to cross a bridge to get to the wreck. I also found a cool tree that looks cool to sit in (although it was significantly less comfortable than I originally thought...) Write more soon, -Emily

Canada Day!

Image
Hi Everyone, Yesterday was Canada Day! There were heaps of flags on people's houses and almost everyone was dressed in red and white! We went to the parade that was being held and there were many cool costumes and people walking! Some beekeepers were even taking their bees for a walk using special carry hives! It was super cool. Here are some pics!  Write more soon, -Emily
