Camden Markets

Image
Hi Everyone, Today we went and spent a few hours at the Camden Markets!! There was so much to see and buy and EAT! By the enterence, there was at least 3 flavours of lemonade and dutch pancakes and they looked so yummy! There was a lolly shop where Lily got a chimney cake/icecream thingy (which was delicious). There were lots of rock shirt shops, pin shops, hippie patched pants shops (they looked kinda cool), food shops, tamagotchi shops and pretty much EVERYTHING SHOPS!! I bought a small red bus keychain and a red phonebooth pin (I collect pins). Lily saw a really cool tamagotchi that can connect to other tamagotcis as well! If your pets get along, they play and if not they eat each other. They looked really fun but they were super expensive unfortunately. Also at the market was a cute family of coots who had a baby! It was super fluffy and cheepy. Also ALSO there was a big cyborg night club exhibition thing which was awesome, but we couldn't go past the lobby because apparently i...

London Sights!!!

Hi Everyone, Today we went on another walk to see some iconic London sights! We went to see Westminster, Big Ben, the London Eye, St. James park, the Golden Jubilee Bridge over the river Thames and Buckingham Palace! We saw the changing of the guards and rode on the tube subway train too. Westminster was AMAZING!! It was huge an beautiful. I LOVED it! Big Ben was also huge and beautiful, and we were lucky enough to hear it chime 10:00am! Near those two landmarks there were 2 buskers who were both playing bagpipes just a block away from each other. The London Eye was MASSIVE!!! We will ride on it soon, but today we just had a look. It was much bigger than I thought!! St. James park was pretty cool and had lots of birds. It even had albatross! For those of you who have never seen an albatross up close picture a GIGANTIC seagull mixed with a pelican. My picture is a bit fuzzy because they were far away.  Buckingham Palace was rather un-palace-y. I expected it to look like Westm...

Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park

Image
Hi Everyone! Yesterday we did LOADS of walking! We went to Kensington Garden and Hyde park where we saw a lake full of different birds (including gulls, pigeons, swans, geese, coots and ducks), a very friendly squirrel that Lily got to pat, a post box, a huge tree, a statues of rocks in a tree, a huge fancy monument for Prince Arthur and little Rolls Royces and other cool cars with ice cream shops in them! We also walked around London going to places like Paddington station. It was super busy! There was a clock near the station that had a little man inside who would rub off the clock hand and draw a new one every minute to change the time! It was super cool! We didn't get a video of it but it is definitely worth looking up.  We also went to a few Princess Diana monuments. One of them was a castle (it just looked like a big house) that had people dressed in old English outfits singing songs! It was so cool; I want to do that one day! There was also a big fountain/pond area th...

London!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't written in a while, I was busy enjoying our last weeks in Cirencester! I'll really miss that town; it was an amazing first introduction to England! Now we're in London! So far we have walked beside mini Venice, been to a cafe in a plant nursery and chilled at our cool little apartment after a long drive. I'm super exhausted! Tomorrow, we'll go for a walk in the park and to suss out the library.  A couple things I have noticed about London are... 1. Each street has it's own house design, they all look the same! 2. Some houses look like wedding cakes 3. Rats are very cute (we saw one under a bin) 4. English houses have lots of chimneys even if they don't have fireplaces 5. All cities around the world look the same (where we live, London looks like Melbourne, Australia) Maybe the last one will change as we explore a bit more. Write more soon, -Emily P.S. I want to live in a houseboat now!
