Edinburgh trip

Image
Hi Everyone! Yesterday we took a trip to Edinburgh again. I bought a tartan for my family's last name, and I'm very happy with it! The man at the shop knew so much about tartans! He told us about the Australian tartan (I didn't know there was one!) and about our family's history. It was fascinating! Afterwards we went to a cafe we had been to before and had onion relish and crisp toasted sandwiches with carrot and red lentil soup. Yum! Write more soon, -Emily

Walking up North Berwick Law

Image
Hello Everyone! Yesterday Dad and I walked up the North Berwick Law (a cool hill). It took around 30mins and it was sorta similar to Mount Iron but a bit steeper for those of you who live in Wanaka New Zealand. It was a cool hike and you could see sooooo far in every direction at the top! There was also an old WWII comms base up there and a replicaa of a whale jawbone (they used to have a real one, but it rotted I think). It was a super fun climb; I might do it again if I get the chance, but who knows what will happen. Write more soon, -Emily Going over the super cool stile to get there!

I've got 2 words for you, PUG. CAFE.

Image
Hi Everyone! Yesterday Mum and Dad surprised my sister and I with a trip to a Pug Cafe! It was soooo cute! When they opened the door, the pugs came barreling out and running everywhere! They loved the carrots we fed them and loved the dog treats even more! Our favourite pug was an old one called Doug. He was more clam than the others, who were play fighting EVERYWHERE. It was super funny to see them fight over toys and push each other into the ball pit. Write more soon, -Emily This is Doug /\

York (Not the new one ;P)

Image
Hi Everyone, We have stayed in York for 2 nights, but I wish we could stay longer! It's such a beautiful English town. There is a very old city wall that you can walk on and a place called the Shambles with very bendy and old houses. There was a cool Harry Potter shops in the Shambles; the perfect place to put it as the Shambles feels almost like Diagon Alley! It was super cool to have seen the green summer trees on the way out of England and then come back to red, orange, brown and yellow autumn trees!  The is also a BEAUTIFUL old cathedral. It was built way back in the 12 hundreds (it took 200 years to build!), but would still be counted as an architectural marvel is built today. It was so massive, and extensively ornate. I loved touring it! There was even a priest at the end who got up and said a few words and the Lord's Prayer.  The cathedral building site first had construction waaaay back in 670 and the building lasted 200 years from the 1200s to the 1400. WOOOOOW...
