Vancouver Island - Victoria

Hi Everyone,

We are now back at home after visiting Victoria for 3 days! This was probably the most fun destination of our trip! We walked in a beautiful park/botanic garden that has lots of animals living there! There were ducks (with cute ducklings!), turtles, geese, seagulls, crows, ravens, owls (COOL!!) and peacocks!! The peacocks were beautiful and they were eating seed from this one guy's hand! There was also a children's zoo in the park that had donkeys, pigs, ducks, ducklings (that were all lying together in a way that looked like they were a little puddle of ducks!) , guinea pigs, skinny pigs (hairless guinea pigs), alpacas, budgies, chickens and GOATS!!!! The only ones you could pat were the goats and the baby goats, but THEY WERE SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

After we went to a dock where they had floating houses and shops! The houses were so colourful and pretty. There was also a heron near the houses, which was cool to see.

We also went to a miniature museum! They had beautiful miniature castles, cities, doll houses and circuses! They made miniature scenes from historical events like WWII and the American revolution and scenes from books like The Swiss Family Robinson and The Knights Of The Round Table. My favourite were the dollhouses, they were tiny mansions!! The kitchens with the tiny crockery were the best ones.

We also ALSO went to the British Columbia museum, which was cool. There were stuffed animals (sad and gross but kinda cool) like walruses and deer. We watched and IMAX movie of some kids finding a teenage T.rex fossil, which was also pretty cool.

After all that we went to the place of my dreams... AN INTERACTIVE BOARD GAME CAFE!!!!!! You got to choose any board game (out of the 900 available) and just sit and play them! For as long as you wanted! And they also sold stuff like pizza and popcorn to eat while you play! IT WAS THE BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!!

It was a very fun holiday, but I am happy to be home where the beds are comfortable, the showers are warm and the wifi is reliable.

Write more soon,

-Emily

P.S. There was a cool topiary of some whales in the city too. I will include a pic.

P.P.S. We didn't take too many pics this time sorry.

  1. Wow what an amazing trip. I love the dolls house best of all. I do like the puddle of ducks, reminded me of Jemima Puddle duck. I agree stuffed animals are kinda gross but at the same time intriguing. The peacock is gorgeous. You must have had a great time with the games. I’m surprised they let you eat things like pizza whilst you were playing them. What an amazing trip you are having. I’ll look forward to the next instalment.
