We're in Cirencester!!!

Hi Everyone,

We made it to Cirencester, England! It took a 9 hour flight where we only got around 1 hour sleep and another 2 hour drive (where we spotted Windsor Castle!) to get to our place. All the buildings here are made with the same kind of brick. The colour is called Cirencester Brick  or something similar. Cirencester has a beautiful church, a market square, a chocolate shop, a bookshop, a lolly shop, a crafts market, a tea room and many other cool places.

In the park behind the church there is a machine where you tap your phone (paying 1 pound) and then duck food falls out of the machine and you can feed the ducks! It was really cool. In the pond were a few ducks and only one gull but when we started throwing food the gull called all his friends! There were also some swans chilling by the pond.

The church is huge! And beautiful. There were many stained glass windows, a real pipe organ and I think some people were burried under the floor... I tried not to walk on those parts. There is also a graveyard behind the church with some headstones so old that I can't read what they say.

Our house we are staying in is an around 800 year old refurbished schoolhouse on Coxwell street! It used to be an old boarding school for girls and you can still see the old beams in the roof. The street we live on was originally build in 1250! The people who rented us the house left out raisin scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream for us! They were so yummy. I like the plates and tea set here, they are really pretty white and blue ones. I unfortunately couldn't find my favourite tea here, Red Seal Blood Orange (I couldn't find it in Canada either) but I discovered that Raspberry and Elder flower tastes good as well.

One of the only downsides of Cirencester is that the library is quite small. Not that I have anything against small libraries, it's just that not many books there caught my attention.

I am excited to see the bigger park; it has a huuuuuuuge hedge fence!

Write more soon,

-Emily

For the record, I'm reading on my computer in this pic.

This was played by a keyboard on the other side of the room!

Hi Emily. We both read and enjoyed your blog post from England. Love the willow pattern china, the pic of you huddled under a rug reading, the bookshop - all of it actually. You write so well. It was very entertaining reading supported by great photos.
